To build strong social and professional networks for early career farmers and young agribusiness professionals.

In 2017 the BCG GAPP (Growth, Adoption, Production and Profit) program was created as an opportunity for young farmers to socialise, improve their farming knowledge and create and strengthen professional networks. This program will expand on the success of GAPP, with BCG allocating funding to establish a “Young Farmer Network” across the region. BCG will provide guidance, structure and act as a conduit to expertise through BCG staff and a network of professional support. Seven groups will be established across the Wimmera, Southern Mallee and North Central Regions, aligned with local council areas Gannawarra, Loddon, Swan Hill, Buloke, Yarriambiack, Hindmarsh and West Wimmera. The program will promote off-farm networking and activity opportunities for farmers in the NW Node region and deliver agronomic, business, innovation and adoption strategies and information leading into, during and after drought.
