To improve the health and wellbeing of farmers by providing locally-based fitness programs

Enhancing physical health for drought resilience To address gaps from limited and more traditional options for food/sport and health in small and remote rural areas who may not have access to fitness and health facilities of bigger centres.

BCG, in partnership with Active Farmers, are exploring project ideas and an ongoing partnership for a health and wellbeing program, tailored to suit typical broadacre farming practices.

  • Ongoing consultation with farmer’s across varying ages is identifying the need for support to local personal trainers in rural areas with lower (or geographically spaced out) populations that typically find it difficult to maintain a range of physical health and wellness options to farmers without running at a loss due to overheads

  • Increased resources and support that are relevant to small communities with basic facilities and can be applied practically to high strain seasonal periods has great potential for increased health, wellbeing and by extension – productivity.

  • Project includes the facilitation of a pre-harvest health & nutrition program.
