VicHub Impact Snapshot Booklet 2021-25 OFCThe Victoria Drought Resilience Adoption & Innovation Hub (Vic Hub) has released its new Impact Snapshot 2021–25, highlighting the practical outcomes, partnerships and region-led activities helping strengthen drought resilience across Victoria.

The publication showcases the Vic Hub’s decentralised model, which empowers regional nodes to work directly with farmers, communities and industry to identify priorities and co-design locally relevant solutions.

Since 2021, the Vic Hub has supported 137 projects, 80 trials and demonstrations, 157 learning activities and 190 partnerships across 36 Victorian local government areas.

Vic Hub Director Dr Sara Hely said the publication reflects the strength of collaboration across the Hub’s statewide network.

“Regional organisations are central to how we operate, helping shape priorities and ensuring the work is relevant and useful,” Dr Hely said.

“Victoria’s climate is highly variable, with shifting seasons, water challenges and more frequent dry periods. The Vic Hub was established to respond to this, supporting both immediate seasonal needs and longer-term drought resilience.”

The 12-page booklet features flagship project examples from across Victoria:

  • dry-sowing demonstrations in the Wimmera and Mallee (North-West Node)
  • care of riparian areas in dams project (Gippsland Node)
  • harmful algal bloom management in irrigated horticulture regions (North-West Irrigated Horticulture Node)
  • canola-establishment trials using Traditional Knowledge (North-East Node)
  • workshops supporting farmers through uncertain seasonal conditions (South-West Node)

The publication also highlights the value of co-design, knowledge sharing and collaboration between farming systems groups, universities, government and industry partners.
