VIC HUB NEWSLETTER #18 –September 2024

Vic Drought Hub - Farmland 1

Stay informed with Vic Hub’s news into drought preparedness & resilience: read the September 2024 newsletter online

eDM 2024 0926 SeptThis month’s newsletter is packed with valuable insights on drought preparedness and resilience. We spotlight Vic Hub Drought-Resilience Scholarship Awardee Hameer Jhiknaria, whose research is using cutting-edge GIS technology to analyse the impacts of drought on North-West Victorian communities between 2006 and 2021. Something to keep an eye on is our DRInKS process, which will deliver drought information tailored to different regional conditions. Farmers and communities across Victoria are facing a variety of challenges, from pre-drought stress to favourable (but uncertain) growing conditions. Stay connected as we look at how these shifts affect farm systems and provide tools to help you make informed decisions.

We also showcase an innovative tool to support farmers planning for drought and beyond, and if you have your own innovation on the back burner, check out the EOIs for Round 2 of the FDF-funded Drought Venture Studio.

You’ll also find useful resources, including grant opportunities, events and our most-clicked links from last time (hint: it’s about young people in ag).

Read it all in the newsletter on our website, or sign up if you haven’t already – and don’t forget to follow us on social media!

It’s all in the September edition – read it online.
