Applications now open for drought-support event providers

 

Service providers across Victoria are invited to apply to deliver group-based events in 2026 as part of the Drought Support Program. Applications are open for five weeks from Monday 17 November and close at 11.59pm AEDT on Sunday 21 December.

Victoria seeks proposals for drought-support events in 2026

Vic Hub partner Agriculture Victoria has announced a new call for proposals and quotes (RFQs) from service providers, including local government areas (LGAs)catchment management authorities (CMAs), farmer groups, agronomists, farm business planners, veterinarians, and other organisations. These providers will deliver local group-based events throughout 2026 as part of the Drought Support Program.

Critical autumn events to help farmers build resilience

 

Since beginning the technical decision-making initiative last year, 135 events have reached almost 3,000 Victorian farmers. Round 3 will launch in late January 2026, delivering group-based events in the lead up to autumn. Key priority areas include:

  • Feed budgeting and planning
  • Water budgeting and planning (farm reticulation systems)
  • Livestock management
  • Livestock nutrition
  • Pastures: assessment, renovation and re-establishment
  • Agronomy: variety selection, time of sowing, pest and disease management
  • Horticulture production: soils, irrigation and crop management
  • Stock containment areas
  • Key farm business trigger points and decision making
  • Bank ready
  • Farm finances

 

How to apply for drought support events funding

 

Applications for Round 3 are open now until 11.59 pm, Sunday 21 December. Service providers who participated in Round 1 and 2 are also encouraged to reapply.
