Overview

The FDF has invested $1.6 million through Nuffield Australia over two years for drought-resilience scholarships and training for agriculture leaders.

Nuffield Australia awarded 5 drought resilience overseas study scholarships to farmers in 2024, and will offer up to 5 more in 2025. Each scholarship is valued at $40,000.

The scholarships will enable farmers to travel the world and bring back the latest ideas and innovations in drought resilience to develop themselves, their business, and their industry to get ready for future drought.

The funding will also see all Nuffield scholars supported to increase their knowledge of drought resilience tools and practices to better prepare for drying conditions.

Applications for 2025 scholarships are now open and Australian farmers and others working in food and fibre industries, and aged between 28 and 45 are encouraged to apply now.

Applications close on 31 May 2024.
