This week Victorian Government announced more direct drought support, extending existing infrastructure and securing long-term water reliability:

  • $15 million towards the East Grampians Rural Pipeline, also known as the Mininera Rural Pipeline.
  • $3m to expand Victoria’s Emergency Supply Point network and install new access points or upgrade existing ones across the state.
  • $2.5m to leverage existing groundwater bores for additional domestic and stock access.
  • $3.5m to develop a new Western Region Sustainable Water Strategy.
  • $1m for catchment management authorities to run Drought Employment Programs.
