Mob-led grant opportunity: Strengthening Drought Resilience on Country

The Australian Government’s Future Drought Fund (FDF) has launched the Strengthening Drought Resilience on Country Grant Program. This significant initiative places Mob’s leadership and knowledge at the heart of building resilience to dry times and climate impacts.

The Program has $12 million available to support First Nations businesses and organisations, or a consortium of partners with a First Nations lead applicant, as Delivery Partners. They will work with their communities to design and support the delivery of local projects that matter to them.

For over 65,000 years, Mob have cared for Country – drawing on deep and enduring connections to land, sea, and community. Mob’s ways of managing dry times are grounded in cultural knowledge and practices that offer valuable insights into sustainable and adaptive ways of living with climate variability.

This program is about Mob working with Mob — collaborating, sharing ideas and yarning together on building drought and climate resilience while staying connected to Country. It recognises that Mob is best placed to make decisions for Mob, ensuring that projects are culturally safe, community-led and aligned with long-term priorities.

Applications close 9pm AEDT, on 16 December 2025.
