Please don’t be discouraged to attend if you don’t consider yourself ‘young’ or a ‘farmer’. The Young Agricultural Professionals Network events are simply targeted at the youngest active generation on farm (regardless of age), but are open to everyone from farmers, those working in the agricultural industry, or those with an interest to learn more and socialise with like-minded people.

The inaugural event Fields of Futures dinner at GMHBA stadium marks the beginning of the project aimed at uniting South-West Victoria’s agricultural community, fostering a supportive network that can be relied upon during both good and tough times.

YAPs offers a network of support and aims to build a resilient community through events, publications, resources, and services. It will be a network where members can seek help, offer advice, or simply connect in what can sometimes be an isolating industry.

The Fields of Futures dinner will feature special guests including:

  • Geelong Cats premiership player Rhys Stanley
  • the inspiring Dr Elle Moyle of Pathfinder Angus
  • and will be hosted by the charismatic Oli Le Lievre from Humans of Agriculture

The evening promises to be both enlightening and entertaining.

This event is free for anyone aged 18+ to attend, including partners, family, friends, or colleagues involved or interested in agriculture. This will be a ticketed-only event (no ticket, no entry). Get your tickets by July 30th to secure your spot. Bus transportation will be available from multiple pickup points throughout the Western Districts, with return service provided after the event. Follow the link on the ticketing site to book your seat.

The Field of Future Dinner is supported by Southern Farming Systems through funding from the Australian Government’s Future Drought Fund.
