There is a greater chance of achieving large-scale adoption – resulting in practice change –when farmers can see the impact of practices and technologies in person, and are able to see the benefits to their businesses.

This is why the Australian Government is investing $14.3 million through the Extension and Adoption of Drought Resilience Farming Practices Grants for eligible entities to work with farmers to drive adoption of proven practices or technologies that improve drought resilience and agricultural productivity.

The grants program is part of the Future Drought Fund, and welcomes applications from eligible Australian entities with proven and existing Australian or international R&D drought-resilience practices and technologies ready for large-scale adoption.

Suitable applicants could be eligible for grants of between $100,000 and $3m (GST exclusive) per application, to deliver extension activities, including demonstrations to farmers, that drive large-scale adoption over a 24-month activity period starting June 2023. Applications close on 9 January 2023, at 9pm (AEDT).
